The hope for your new year can be as bright as the promises of God. The Bible offers you confidence for the future--not based on your own ingenuity or determination, but on the love and mercy of God. Nothing in the coming year--rising prices, unemployment, family problems--yes, nothing can change this solid hope.
The prophet Jeremiah knew the secret: "Blessed (happy) is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is" (Jeremiah 17:7). God--the all-powerful Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who cares about your every problem--this God alone can build a secure future for you.
The person who has never trusted Jesus Christ may see life as hopeless. And, in the final analysis, he is right, for without Christ he "has no hope, and (is) without God in the world" (Ephesians 2:12).
But Jesus Christ offers what you could never purchase and no one can take from you...
...love that is not based on your feelings or merits but on the never-ending mercies of God (Romans 5:8).
...freedom to know and enjoy God because Jesus Christ has taken the punishment for your sins (1 Peter 3:18).
...friendship that will never disappoint you because Jesus promised, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).
...a reason for living because following Christ gives true meaning and purpose to life (John 14:6).
...an unshakeable future firmly based on Christ's promise: "I will come again" (John 14:3).
...an eternal home where the killjoys of earth--selfishness, hatred, death--will all be gone (Revelation 21:4).
As you enter this new year, you can depend on yourself and wish for the best, or you can put your hope in God. Through faith in His Word you can be filled with hope that will never fail and life that will never end.
"Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord His God" (Psalm 146:5).

Printed boldly on the back of United States currency is the motto “In God
We Trust.” We have seen it so often that it may have lost its meaning to
us. But found in these words is the secret to national and personal
greatness.
Webster’s Dictionary defines the word trust as “a firm belief or
confidence in the honesty, integrity, reliability and justice of another
person or thing.”
When our founding fathers signed their names to the Declaration of
Independence, they believed that God was the only sure foundation upon
which to build a nation that would endure. These men knew that this unique
experiment in freedom would only stand the test of time by God's grace.
George Washington stated it simply, “It is impossible to rightly govern
the world without God and the Bible.”
Reliance upon God was deeply rooted in our country's important documents
and institutions from the beginning. But today confidence in God and His
Word is no longer the foundation of society.
In our schools the God of Creation has been replaced by the “god” of
evolutionary chance. Truth has been replaced by relativism. Morality has
been set aside in favor of “political correctness.”
In our homes we nightly view things that were unimaginable on television
and in movies only a decade ago. Violence, sexual perversion and obscene
language spill off the screen.
In government, God’s principles of truth and justice have often given way
to personal and political advantage, personal profit, and compromise.
As we have departed from God, life has been devalued. The lives of unborn
children are snuffed out in abortion clinics and the number of robberies,
rapes and murders increase daily.
It is time that we return to the values of God’s Word in our public and
private lives so that He will heal our people and our land. We must begin
person by person on our knees, confessing our failure to trust God fully
in our lives.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear
from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2
Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

2ND MUSTARD SEED NEWSLETTER FOR DECEMBER 2017 .jpg) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:1-4 KJV) Jesus said: I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 KJV) Jesus came to be "The Christmas Light of the World." My favorite Christmas carol is "Silent Night." But this great song is not about darkness. It's about the Christmas Light that shines so bright! The third verse of "Silent Night" says,
Silent Night! Holy Night!
Son of God, love's pure light!
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth!
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth!
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 KJV)
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:17 KJV)
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isaiah 9:2 KJV)
I sing at Christmas because God has given me something to sing about. I no longer walk in darkness. I no longer dwell in the land of the shadow of death, the Light of the world has shined in my heart and set me free. Now Jesus wants me to be a Christmas light for all the world to see.

Update:
Mark has become the "Padre of Broadway." He is giving away food and drink to the homeless. He is sharing the gospel with tourists from all over the world. He is passing out gospel tracts and snacks at concerts at The Municipal Auditorium, Ryman Auditorium & the Bridgestone Arena. He is also sending out email devotionals on the Internet and giving away DVDS on the Internet plus writing newsletters. Ginger continues to offer Biblical counseling, spiritual encouragement, and intercessory prayer. "She is God's Minute Woman."
We will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Acts 6:14 KJV
The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. I Peter 4:7 KJV
